Grounds
Photography (professional and amateur) is allowed on-site while outdoors on the grounds at Glensheen. For outdoor professional photo sessions, please contact Mike Mayou, Glensheen Marketing Manager (218-726-8925, mmayou@d.umn.edu) during normal business hours to notify us of your plans. While reservations are not required, they are appreciated so we can plan accordingly. All members of your party must purchase grounds admission tickets for the day of your visit.
Private photography sessions on the grounds outside of normal business hours may be arranged with notice at least 14 days in advance. Please contact our events department for pricing at gevents@d.umn.edu.
For all professional photography sessions on Glensheen’s grounds, photos can only be used for personal use. No commercial use of imagery is allowed. Please note that commercial use would include using any images taken at Glensheen on a professional photography website or social media account to promote a photographer’s work. If you would like to use the grounds for a commercial film or photography project at Glensheen, please follow the instructions found on the University filming and production website and send your answers to Lynne Williams at UMD, allowing for time for the University to respond.

Professional videography of any kind is subject to prior approval and fees. To request permission for commercial filming at Glensheen, you can submit a request by responding to questions for commercial filming found at this link and allow the University time to respond. Drones (UAS)
Please note that we do not allow recreational or commercial drone use on or over the property for the safety of guests and to protect the property.
