Pumpkin Hunt

The entire month of October, tour guests will have the chance to eye-spy (plastic) pumpkins throughout the mansion and the estate. Guests will be given a scavenger hunt card to aid in their hunt. Once guests have found all nine pumpkins, they can go to the gift shop to claim their small prize.

Tour Hours: Open daily | 9:00 am — 4:00 pm
For tour times and more information visit us at glensheen.org.

Whiskey Wednesday

Whiskey Wednesdays are every Wednesday in the month of October from
6:00 pm — 9:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public with drinks available for purchase at the cash bar.

Whiskey Wednesdays will take place in the recently opened Garage with seating outside by Lake Superior. We encourage you to explore the estate with a drink in hand.

Chester Congdon served from 1881 until 1886 as assistant United States attorney for the district of Minnesota and as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1909 and 1911. This was during the height of prohibition, and Chester voted against prohibition, more than once. In honor of his support of booze, we have created Whiskey Wednesdays. Learn more here.

Night at the Museum

This is your night to enjoy the mansion — at night… for FREE.

On October 4th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Glensheen is opening its doors to you for FREE self-guided tours.

Explore the lakeside, 12-acre estate illuminated on a crisp fall night. See the picture-perfect stone bridge spotlighted and the lakeside mansion dramatically lit.. Cap the night with a drink from a cash bar and a snack from food trucks on the estate.

DISCLAIMER: Night at the Museum tours will reach capacity very quickly. Not every Night at the Museum attendee will be able to tour the mansion. Reservations for tours will not be taken. It is first to come, first served. There is plenty of fun still to be had on the estate. Learn more here.

It’s an epic night on the grounds. Don’t miss it.

Fall PhotoMeet

Glensheen is hosting a fall sunrise photography event for all. You don’t need to be an Instagrammer or a part of any club to attend. Amateurs, professionals, and everyone in between are welcome!

Those of you who have snapped a sunrise photo know that waking up early is a big part of that! There will be plenty of Duluth Coffee Company coffee on hand to fuel our fall color sunrise experience. Sunrise is at 7:14 am. If you want to show up a bit later, that’s fine too!

Even if the sunrise is lackluster, we encourage you to roam the estate and explore all 12 acres. There’s plenty of subject matter to shoot.

NEW THIS YEAR! We are adding a scavenger hunt this year! Thanks to the suggestion of Kathleen Wolleat of the Duluth-Superior Camera Club. The Scavenger Hunt winner will win a Nooks & Crannies Tour and a one night stay at the AmericInn in Two Harbors.
