The Christmas celebrations are over, and the New Year has arrived. This is when winter gets real in the north. For Minnesotans we pride ourselves on our ability to thrive through a Minnesota winter. There seems to be that extra notch of ‘North’ that happens once you pass those Minnesota state lines. This is where you enter #theRealNorth.

Glensheen is proud to be in #theRealNorth.

Over the next couple of months, we’ll show you how we embrace our real north status.

$5 Tuesdays

$5 Tuesdays was such a hit last February, we’re starting a month early and extending an additional month into the spring. Starting Tuesday, January 23rd, $5 will get you through the doors of the mansion on Tuesdays.

Is there a better date idea that leaves you money to spare? $5 Tuesdays will be happening through the end of May. This is the only time of year that the Classic Tour is heavily discounted.

This is a great time of year to tour the mansion, avoid the crowds, and feel like you have the place to yourself.

BEER-grease at Glensheen

Be the first to drink Canal Park Brewing’s NEW specialty beer, brewed specifically for the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon.

Pet a sled dog and meet a musher, be the first to try a brand new beer, and take a tour of the mansion.

Why? Because we wanted to kick off race weekend with our friends at John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon and Canal Park Brewing Company in a mansion.

This is event has limited tickets. Tickets are offered for purchase via the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon, link below. Please RSVP by purchasing tickets here, https://beargrease.com/events/beergrease/

21+ Flashlight Tours

Last, but certainly not least, Flashlight Tours are back with a twist this season. There will be a cash bar with beer and wine available for purchase before and after the tour.

Starting January 27th — March 17th, 21+ Flashlight Tours will be offered Fridays and Saturday nights from 7:00 pm — 9:00 pm.

The tour sizes are smaller, capped at 6 people, making it a personalized Glensheen experience. Glensheen officials are working to give guests a first look at the newly opened public space, the Fireplace Room in the Carriage House.

We’re also working on getting our hands on some Sculpin beer from Ballast Point for the 21+ Flashlight Tours. Why? Once upon a time, Chester Congdon invested in orchards named Congdon Orchards. Apples and fruit was once their mainstay, today they’ve delved into the hop business. The orchards supply a portion of the hops that are found in the Sculpin beer. Therefore, you just might have the opportunity to taste Congdon hops.

January Cleaning Closures

We will be OPEN for tours 9:00 am — 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 13th — Monday, January 15th.

Glensheen will be CLOSED for cleaning: Tuesday, January 16th — Thursday, January 18th.
