Shark Watching Society Bonfires

In an effort to keep the waters of Lake Superior shark free, join us every Wednesday night in May, to keep post while enjoying a bonfire on the shore of Lake Superior. The event is FREE and starts at 6:00 pm. Come and go as you please until 9:00 pm. Kick back and admire the lake with a local beer in hand while eyeing the waters for the ominous dorsal fin.

There will be a cash bar with beer and wine available for purchase. Outside food or beverage is not permitted.

Never fear, free s’mores are here…

Visit our event page HERE, for more information.

Zoo @ Glensheen

Things are getting hairy at Glensheen. For the month of May, two favorite Duluth attractions are teaming up, or should we say herding together?

Every Saturday in May from 1:00 pm — 3:00 pm, Glensheen tour guests will have the chance to see, pet and learn about animals from the Lake Superior Zoo. For more information, check out our event page, HERE.

Free Classic Tours for Moms on Mother’s Day

With a nod to Glensheen’s matriarch Clara Congdon, we celebrate Mother’s Day with free Classic Tours for mothers on Sunday, May 13th. We think Clara, whose diary is filled with details of caring for sick children and mending clothes, would approve.

This is how happy your mom will be if you take her to Glensheen on Mother’s Day. You want your mom to be happy, don’t you?

Sunrise PhotoMeet

The first Glensheen PhotoMeet of 2018 is here! In celebration of the coming of summer, we invite you to a sunrise PhotoMeet to capture the epic morning magic on the grounds of Glensheen. On Saturday, May 19th from 5:00 am — 8:00 am.

The event is free and open to the public. Coffee from Duluth Coffee Company will be provided.

“Best in Show” will be awarded a Nooks & Crannies Tour for two.

Free Tours for Photographers

We’ve loved how Minnesota photographers have shared their immense talents with us. As a thank you to all photographers and a way to welcome new ones, Glensheen is giving photographers FREE Classic Tours on Saturday, May 19th (After the PhotoMeet) and Sunday, May 20th.

Simply bring your camera to receive free admission. Sorry, smartphones don’t count. Limit one per guest.

Community Day

Local attractions in partnership with Visit Duluth and the city of Duluth are offering a series of “Community Days” that provide free admission and other special discounts on select days.

“The goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the industry that our community invests in through tourism tax,” Duluth Mayor Emily Larson said in a news release. Learn more about the city-wide community day here, CITY OF DULUTH’S COMMUNITY DAY PAGE.

Glensheen’s complimentary Community Day is Thursday, May 24th. The first tour begins at 9:00 a.m. and the last tour starts at 4:00 p.m. Tickets available on a first come, first served basis. As capacity may be reached, we suggest arriving early to receive your timed-entry ticket. Come experience the Midwest’s #1 House Museum, on the house!

Open late Memorial Day Weekend

To celebrate the kick-off weekend of summer, we’re giving you more chances to experience Minnesota’s best summer mansion. On Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th Glensheen will be open for tours late, until 8 pm! Many of the most experty experts around agree that the best time to be at Glensheen is in the evening during the summer months.

There you have it! What’s shakin’ at the ‘Sheen in May, for the kickoff to summer. For general tour & pricing information, visit us at glensheen.org.
