Shuttle Bus
Each night of Concerts on the Pier, we will be running a FREE* shuttle bus from UMD’s Maroon Lot B (see map image) by the Heikkila Chemistry & Advanced Materials Science Building (HCAMS) down to Glensheen and back. Parking in this lot is FREE. The bus will be running on a continuous loop to and from Glensheen and UMD’s Maroon Lot B between 5PM (first pick up at UMD) and 9PM (last boarding at Glensheen at 8:30PM). Riders can expect the bus every 20-30 minutes (with the first bus departing close to 5 pm from UMD), depending on traffic.
* If you plan to ride the bus, we would kindly ask that you donate $5 per rider to the Concerts on the Pier fund to help support the ongoing operations of our nonprofit museum. We will have QR codes to scan on the bus and a physical donation receptacle at Glensheen for those wishing to donate with cash. This is a great option for folks looking to get dropped off right by the front gate!
Parking
Walk, bike, kayak, boat, ride share, or shuttle here!
LIMITED parking is available onsite, so those who plan to drive should arrive early. Glensheen does have a limited number of dedicated accessible parking spots available on-site for those with valid credentials. Please avoid driving here if you can.
If you are driving here and plan to park off-site, please be kind to our neighbors and follow the City of Duluth’s parking rules.
Food & Drinks
Three food truck options will be available each night for Concerts on the Pier:
Local ice cream, small snacks, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for purchase on-site.
Non-Motorized Watercraft (Kayaks, Canoes, SUPs, etc.)
This year, Glensheen will offer onsite launching for non-motorized watercraft (ex. canoes, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), or kayaks) in a limited capacity. Please register for a time slot (subject to availability) to launch your non-motorized watercraft in one of the 15-minute time slots provided on the ticketing website. Glensheen is NOT a boat launch and we will not allow any motorized watercraft or boats to launch from our property. Please note that NO TRAILERS will be allowed in the Glensheen parking lot due to congestion issues. All non-motorized watercraft launched at Glensheen must be fastened directly to or contained within a vehicle.
By launching your non-motorized watercraft at Glensheen, you agree to abide by the rules on the DNR website for Lake Superior watercraft and our event. Please note that you must be registered in advance to be eligible to launch your non-motorized vessel at Glensheen.
If you plan to launch your non-motorized watercraft off-site and utilize the 42nd Ave E beach, please DO NOT park on 42nd Avenue East below London Rd. For the 42nd Ave E beach, please park along or above London Road and carry your non-motorized watercraft down to the public beach access. Excessive congestion in this area can lead to problems for neighbors and emergency responders. Thank you for your cooperation.
