This month’s Zenith City On Tap examines the past and future of Duluth’s iconic 1915 Armory, noted not only for its military service but also as an events center that hosted appearances by presidents and performances by celebrated personalities from across the entertainment spectrum—musicians, actors, dancers, and more—for well over half a century. Slated for demolition, the building was saved by the Armory Arts & Music Center in 2004—but its renovation has been a struggle. Zenith City Online publisher Tony Dierckins will talk about the Armory’s past, while the AAMCs executive director Mark Poirer will discuss its ongoing renovation and plans for its future use.
