We are sorry to announce that we are canceling our Fire Fest event planned for February 15. Over the last seven years, we have proudly hosted many events that our community has come to know and love, from Concerts on the Pier to our Glensheen Galas. When creating events, our intent is to offer high quality, unique experiences that you wouldn’t normally expect from a house museum.
Many of our offerings are able to be put together in a fairly short period of time. We have grown accustomed to this pace and style of planning. Unfortunately, Fire Fest had many unexpected elements that required additional planning time with a wide variety of stakeholders. At Glensheen, we want to ensure that every event we offer is delivered at a standard expected by our community.
We are grateful for the efforts of the event’s collaborators and impressed by the elements that were pulled off in short order. Tilt Town Fab’s awesome wooden shark deserves special recognition, and the willingness of the many other vendors that jumped on board to contribute is appreciated.
We apologize to many of you who were excited for Fire Fest. Trust us, we’re bummed too. But there is a silver lining! We are planning a cool new future for the iconic wooden shark this summer…
