*This event has been canceled due to weather*
Join us on our 12-acre lakeside estate on Wednesday evenings to enjoy a hot chocolate bar, walking tacos, campfires, and snowshoeing.
Every Wednesday night in March the grounds are free and open to the public. That means you can come to relish the beauty of Glensheen’s lakeside winter wonderland for free.
We’re so excited to share the estate with you that we’re opening Free Wednesday Nights a week early! Enjoy an extra Free Wednesday Night at Glensheen as a bonus on Wednesday, February 24.
This outdoor event allows for ample physical distancing with Glensheen’s continued health and safety measures in place. Learn more about Glensheen’s Health & Safety measures.
Glensheen’s wooden snowshoes will be available for use with a variety of sizes and types of snowshoes. Even sizes that are perfect for kids! Guests are also welcome to bring their own snowshoes. Glensheen is a great place for beginners to try their hand at snowshoeing since the estate is fairly flat. There have been many first-time snowshoers that have taken advantage of the free snowshoe rental perk at Glensheen.
Food and drink are available for purchase in the Garage of the Carriage House. Explore the estate with a taco in hand…. a Walking Taco! Tacos with bags of chips, choice of beef or black beans, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and Little Angie’s fresh salsa are available for $5.
Wash those tacos down with beer, wine, and hot chocolate. A small selection of beer and wine will be available for purchase. Warm up with a drink at the Craft Cocktail Hot Chocolate Bar. Non-alcoholic hot chocolate is also available for purchase. Get excited because here’s what you can expect at the Hot Chocolate Bar
- 3 Hot Chocolate Craft Cocktails
- Spiked hot chocolate featuring Baileys, peppermint Schnapps, or Vikre aquavit
- Mini Marshmallows
- Whip Cream
- N/A Hot Chocolate also available
Credit card and cash accepted. An ATM is not available onsite.
If you have food to chew, grab your crew and scoot. When your mask is off, make like a rocket and blastoff! Please keep a six-foot distance from other groups when consuming food or drink with your mask off.
Top the night off next to a fire looking over an ominous Lake Superior or the picturesque Stone Arch Bridge. We know socialization is dire but please keep it under one roof around the fire. Please only one household per campfire.
