This guided, nighttime experience allows you to experience the estate like never before. On this tour, you will snowshoe through forests and gardens, gaining a deeper understanding of the mansion, grounds, and how winter was experienced in the 1910s in Duluth. Whether you’re a local history buff or just looking to stretch your legs, this is a sure way to beat cabin fever. Friday & Saturday | February 14th & 15th | 5:30pm & 7:00pm Friday & Saturday | February 21st & 22nd | 5:30pm & 7:00pm Two wooden snowshoes sit in front of a snowy hillside and evergreen trees with a red brick mansion behind them. The Snowshoe Tour is a guided tour of Glensheen’s grounds. Groups will be led by a Tour Guide across the estate to explore select spaces of our 12 acres while on snowshoes. Please note that tickets are required for this event. Guests are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase tickets in advance online as space is limited. The tour will only be offered on the dates listed above. We strongly recommend that guests dress for the weather as this tour will take place snow or shine. The tour route is approximately 0.75 miles long through varying terrain. In the event that there is not adequate accumulation to snowshoe, the tour will take place on foot. In the event that the tour is canceled due to inclement weather (extreme cold warning or winter storm warning) ticket holders will be refunded the full amount of their tour. Guests are encouraged to bring their own snowshoes, headlamps, and poles. For those without, snowshoes* and headlamps will be available on-site as well. *Glensheen has a variety of Huron, Ojibwa, Green Mountain, and Bear Paw-style snowshoes, which do not come with poles.
