Summer nights at Glensheen are pretty magical. The air cools down, the grounds light up, and the whole place has a new feel to it. It’s hard to capture that feeling in words, but that’s ok because you can experience it yourself with a Summer Evening Tour!

This tour combines some of Glensheen’s best features. Guests are guided through all five floors of the mansion, along with some of the most beautiful parts of the grounds. This includes both gardens, the property’s lakeshore, and the stone arch bridge stretching across Tischer Creek.

In the summer months, our gardens are at their prime. Guests visiting in August are even likely to enjoy complimentary raspberries from the vine, depending on ripeness.

Like I said before, this is a tour that can pretty much speak for itself, but here are some of the highlights you can look forward to while taking a Summer Evening Tour:

Visit “hidden” spaces

This tour guides you through spaces that seem to be hidden in plain sight, like Fox Forest.

Summer Evening Tour guests will also be some of the first to see the Boathouse in its newly restored form, free of rocks and debris!

Learn more about the gardens

Along with having some of the only historical gardens in Minnesota, Glensheen also has some experimental gardens, including a rose garden used by the University of Minnesota.

See the house in-depth

This tour covers all five floors of the mansion, including the attic. You will definitely get your steps in at Glensheen.

Hang with our staff

This tour is pretty extensive, so you can expect to spend around 2 hours with your tour guide. You get to hang out with Josh, or Bailey, or any of our other awesome tour guides!

Spend some quality time with Lake Superior

Time spent on the shores of Lake Superior is always a good time, especially around sunset.

As with most tours, the grounds are open to guests until Glensheen closes, so you’re free to spend more time in your favorite spots, or enjoy a drink by the water for the Lake Superior Beach Club if you visit on the weekend!

Come see Glensheen at the absolute best time — a summer evening. The Summer Evening Tour is available daily July 1 — August 24 from 5:30 pm — 7:00 pm.

You can purchase Summer Evening tickets here.

We hope to see you at the ‘Sheen soon!
