Student Hospitality Services

Glensheen is hiring in Student Hospitality for this position that interacts with guests while enhancing their unique experience at Glensheen, a popular destination on the shore of Lake Superior. Hospitality staff guide guests through the mansion by providing historical insight and information about the estate. Hospitality staff exhibit courteous, helpful, and friendly service to each visitor of Glensheen. Employees will gain applicable experience in customer service, communication, history, teamwork, events, and museum operations. Glensheen is open during most major holidays and University breaks; working some holidays and breaks is expected. Glensheen is currently looking for students with availability to work Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and/or Sundays. Hours may vary throughout the year.

Student Historic Interpreter

Glensheen is hiring Student Historic Interpreters to create memorable experiences for guests throughout their visit to the Midwest’s number-one historic house museum and bring the Glensheen story to life! This is a fun, energetic position that interacts with guests by enhancing their unique experience at Glensheen, a popular destination on the shores of Lake Superior. Guests are visiting for a chance to escape reality, experience something new, and leave with a story to tell.  Student Historic Interpreters enhance the guest experience by providing historical insight, guidance, and information while securing the original collection within the estate. It takes a positive, energetic, and friendly person to ensure each guest feels excitement as they explore the Glensheen estate. Responsibilities range from ensuring guest safety, providing engaging tours, sharing the Glensheen story, and efficiently enhancing the overall guest experience.
