Community Day

Glensheen is excited to host a FREE Community Day event featuring Classic Christmas Tours of the mansion on January 8, 2023.  Self-guided tours will be offered from 9 AM – 5 PM and reservations are not available. All guests in line by 5 PM will receive a free Classic Tour. When arriving, guests will be welcomed at the Ticket House and proceed to the Carriage House and Mansion for their self-guided tours. Grounds access will also be available for free and guests are encouraged to tour the outdoor Spirit of the Lights light display throughout the day.

January 8 will be the final day that Glensheen is decked out for Christmas this season. This year, we brought in newly inspired decorations to fill the mansion with color and fun for the holidays!

Inside the mansion, hundreds of feet of garland line railings and ropes, a towering tree stands in the main entryway, fully lit and decorated, and trees of every style and color adorn every space. Not only can you experience refreshed decorations and themed rooms featuring 27 total trees, but we are also hiding 25 elves throughout the mansion to find as you take your tour. The sneaky elves like to hide in funny places throughout the mansion, making for a great scavenger hunt for guests of all ages!

Each year, Glensheen hosts a Christmas Community Day event to welcome members of the Duluth area and surrounding communities to tour the mansion and experience Glensheen for free. This is one of the ways that Glensheen gives back, including our other free Wendesday night events that are hosted here throughout the year such as Sunset Snowshoes, Concerts on the Pier, Beer Garden, and more.
