Concerts on the Pier WEATHER UPDATE: The 8/7 Concert on the Pier featuring Sydney Hansen and The Penny Peaches has been CANCELED due to forecasted rain/thunderstorms this evening. We are bummed that today’s show had to be canceled, but due to safety precautions and the potential impact of rain on gear and electronics, we decided to play it safe.
Normally, we try to reschedule these shows, but after consulting with the headliner, Sydney Hansen, we will be unable to reschedule this season. We look forward to potentially booking Sydney again next year! The Penny Peaches (opener) will be rescheduled for a later Concert on the Pier date this season (TBD as we work with the artists).

Sydney Hansen is a Singer-Songwriter/Recording Artist based in Nashville, TN & Duluth, MN. Her passionate sound and enthusiasm are exciting for all to hear. With a new twist on country, Sydney brings a chill and refreshing sound you won’t want to miss!
The Penny Peaches consists of sisters Hattie and Grace Peach, who are “like the Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit without the accent.” Their peaceful sound and gorgeous harmonies ring out to any audience. According to the band, Glensheen is extra near and dear to Hattie, as she spent her college days working here as a tour guide and student gardener. We can’t wait to have her return!

The 2024 lineup is our BIGGEST yet, with 18 total groups (9 headliners and 9 openers).
The event is free and open to the public from 5 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm.
At Concerts, guests can connect with neighbors and friends, play lawn games, grab some grub from a local food truck, enjoy a refreshing drink, eat locally-made ice cream, and take a seat by the shores of Lake Superior. Guests are encouraged to paddle or boat in to view the concert from the water or are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the shore.
For each concert this year, Glensheen will also offer a free shuttle bus (with a suggested donation) between the UMD campus and Glensheen. Parking at UMD is free. More information can be found at https://glensheen.org/concerts/event-information/.
