Nur-D is one of the fastest-rising stars in Minnesota’s music scene after bursting onto the stage in 2018. Imagine the soulful sounds of Bruno Mars or Childish Gambino, the powerful energy of Chance the Rapper, the pop culture punchlines of an episode of “Community,” all rolled up into a show that everyone can enjoy à la The Fresh Prince. Performing alongside national acts like MisterWives, Ludacris, Tyler The Creator, and the Grammy Award-winning Minnesota Orchestra, Nur-D is well on his way to becoming a household name!

Boku Frequency has been playing Psychedelic funk, blues, and soulful rock for more than two decades. The band consists of founding members Terry “Redeye Dread” Gums on guitar and Thomas “Too Sharp” Harris on bass, and a variety of drummers. Their current drummer is Elliot “Backbeat” Harris.

The 2024 lineup is our BIGGEST yet, with 18 total groups (9 headliners and 9 openers).

The event is free and open to the public from 5 to 8 pm. Gates open at 5 pm, however, for those interested, early access can be obtained by purchasing grounds admission or a tour. Each night, the opener will perform from 5:30-6 pm and the headliner will play from 6:30-8 pm.

At Concerts, guests can connect with neighbors and friends, play lawn games, grab some grub from a local food truck, enjoy a refreshing drink, eat locally-made ice cream, and take a seat by the shores of Lake Superior. Guests are encouraged to paddle or boat in to view the concert from the water or are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the shore.

For each concert this year, Glensheen will also offer a free shuttle bus (with a suggested donation) between the UMD campus and Glensheen. Parking at UMD is free. More information can be found at https://glensheen.org/concerts/event-information/.
