Snowshoe at Glensheen

February 15 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Buy a tour, go snowshoeing

This winter, each Glensheen tour guest receives a free snowshoe rental with the purchase of a Full Mansion or General Admission tour until the snow melts.

The 12-acre, historic estate leaves much to be explored with areas guests wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to experience… or didn’t even realize existed at Glensheen. For example, guests can snowshoe through a wooded area at the front of the mansion and even venture under the Stone Arch Bridge. Given safe ice conditions, guests can walk across the frozen Tischer Creek and under the famous Stone Arch Bridge for a stunning side view of the mansion.

As Chester Congdon was a lover of the estate and an advocate of North Shore, the wooden snowshoes are a perfect fit at Glensheen. There is also educational signage across the estate making a snowshoe rental, an extra perk to the regular mansion tour.

The snowshoe experience is complete with various types and sizes of snowshoes for a wide range of people. Glensheen ticket house staff will help guests determine if the Huron, Ojibwe, Green Mountain, or Bear Paw style is best for them and the type of snowshoe experience they are looking for.

If guests simply want to explore the estate and not the mansion, a grounds pass is available for $5.

Glensheen is open daily from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. For specific tour and pricing information, please visit our tour pages here.
